Subscription FAQ
eustella's Free plan is permanent: it is not a trial, it needs no payment method, and it never renews into a paid plan. It has its own usage limits, lower than the paid Comet, Star and Cosmos plans. What a limit means and what counts towards it is explained at eustella.com/services/usage-limits. If you need more, you can upgrade at any time.
No. eustella accounts can be created with any email address. On the sign-in screen, enter your email and choose "Create account". Signing in with Google or Apple is optional.
Yes. For web subscriptions, open app.eustella.com/settings/plan and choose "Change plan". An upgrade takes effect immediately, and you pay only the prorated difference for the rest of the current billing period. A downgrade takes effect at your next renewal; you keep your current plan until then, with no partial refund. If you subscribed in the iOS or Android app, change your plan in the App Store or Google Play subscription settings instead.
Individual plans (Comet, Star, Cosmos) can be billed monthly or yearly — you choose when you subscribe, and yearly costs less than twelve monthly payments. To move an existing individual plan to the other billing cycle, email support@eustella.com from the address linked to your account. Team owners switch the billing cycle themselves at app.eustella.com/organization/billing. Moving from monthly to yearly takes effect immediately: unused monthly time is credited and the prorated yearly amount is charged. Moving from yearly to monthly takes effect when the paid year ends.
eustella does not offer time-limited trials — the Free plan is free for as long as you use it. Promotional codes can be applied at checkout to a paid plan. A paid plan bought with a promotional code is a regular subscription: once the discount ends, it renews at the normal price. To avoid being charged, cancel before then — you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
eustella bills web subscriptions through Stripe, its payment provider. Subscriptions bought in the iOS or Android app are billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. eustella does not support Wero yet, because Wero is not available in many EU member states, including Austria. eustella is following its rollout and aims to replace non-European payment providers as soon as it can.
eustella sets its web prices in euros. Depending on your region, Stripe may show and charge the price in your local currency at checkout, so the currency on your statement is decided per checkout. Individual plans (Comet, Star, Cosmos) always include VAT. Team and Enterprise plans are priced excluding VAT; businesses with a valid EU VAT ID are invoiced under the reverse-charge mechanism. Prices for App Store and Google Play subscriptions are set by each store per region and may differ from the web price.
The most common cause is your bank or card issuer blocking the charge, so contact your bank first — it has to authorise the payment. You can also add a different card or payment method: open app.eustella.com/settings/plan/manage ("Manage Plan") and update it in the Stripe billing portal. Your paid plan stays active for a grace period while the payment is outstanding. If it still cannot be collected, your account moves to the Free plan; none of your data is deleted, and you can subscribe again at any time.
For web subscriptions, open app.eustella.com/settings/plan/manage ("Manage Plan"), go to the payment methods in the Stripe billing portal, then add a new card or remove the old one. Team owners do the same from app.eustella.com/organization/billing. For App Store and Google Play subscriptions, change the payment method in your Apple or Google account — store payments cannot be moved to eustella.
eustella subscriptions can be cancelled at any time and end at the close of the current billing period. Web: open app.eustella.com/settings/plan and choose "Cancel plan" — one click is enough. iOS App Store: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → eustella → Cancel. Google Play: Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → eustella → Cancel. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund a period you have already paid for. To undo a purchase made in the last 14 days, see "Can I withdraw from my purchase within 14 days?" If anything goes wrong, email support@eustella.com from the address linked to your account and the team will cancel it for you.
Yes. EU consumers who subscribe to an individual plan on the web can withdraw within 14 days of purchase without giving a reason. Open app.eustella.com/settings/plan: during those 14 days you will find a "Withdraw from plan" button there. You can also email support@eustella.com from the address linked to your account, with the word "Widerruf" and your invoice number. eustella confirms the withdrawal in writing, ends the subscription immediately and refunds the full amount to your original payment method; your account continues on the Free plan. Once the 14 days have passed, you can cancel your subscription in the same place with one click, using "Cancel plan". App Store and Google Play purchases are withdrawn and refunded by Apple or Google, not by eustella: request the refund at reportaproblem.apple.com or through Google Play support. Withdrawal is not the same as cancellation: it only applies within 14 days of purchase, and it undoes the whole contract, including a refund.
eustella keeps all your web invoices at app.eustella.com/settings/plan/invoices, ready to download. Team owners find their organisation's invoices at app.eustella.com/organization/billing. For App Store or Google Play subscriptions, Apple or Google issues the receipt, not eustella. If an invoice is missing, email support@eustella.com from the address linked to your account and the team will send you a copy.
Yes. eustella lets you edit your billing details yourself: open app.eustella.com/settings/plan, choose "Manage Plan", and update your name, address and tax ID in the Stripe billing portal. The updated details are used for all future invoices.
Yes, on the Team and Enterprise plans. Business plans are priced excluding VAT: enter a valid EU VAT ID at checkout and the invoice is issued under the reverse-charge mechanism. Individual plans (Comet, Star, Cosmos) always include VAT, so businesses that need a VAT-free invoice should choose a Team plan.
Yes. eustella provides a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR, along with its other service agreements, at eustella.com/services. No separate request is needed.
Team plans are self-service for 2 to 99 seats: choose "Teams & Enterprises" on eustella's pricing page, pick your seats and check out. Afterwards, the team owner invites members, assigns seats and manages billing and invoices in the eustella app. Enterprise plans start at 100 seats and are set up with the eustella team: email office@eustella.com with your team size and use case, and you will receive a quote. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is available at eustella.com/services.
Nothing is deleted. After you cancel, your paid plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and then your account continues on the Free plan with all of your chats and files. After a withdrawal within 14 days, the switch to the Free plan happens immediately. Your data is only deleted if you delete your account yourself — see "How do I delete my account?"
Cancel any active subscription first — deleting an account with a running subscription can cause billing problems. Then sign in and open app.eustella.com/settings/more; the delete button is at the bottom of the page. eustella then deletes your account and all of your personal data.
No. Each email address is a separate eustella account, and a subscription belongs to the account — and the Apple or Google account, for store purchases — that was used at checkout. eustella cannot merge accounts or move a subscription between them. If you accidentally bought the same plan twice, email support@eustella.com from either address and the team will help you with the refund.
