Waitlist Closed: eustella Rolls Out Closed Beta to 2,000+ Signups

eustella is closing its public waitlist. More than 2,000 Europeans signed up to test the secure European alternative to ChatGPT, and the closed beta is now rolling out.
As of today, 22 April 2026, new signups to the waitlist are paused. Download links are being sent in waves to everyone who registered, so existing waitlist members do not need to take any action - the invite will reach the inbox you signed up with.
What is live right now
The eustella Android app is listed on Google Play and available to waitlist members as a closed beta. Access is rolled out progressively so we can monitor stability, infrastructure load, and user feedback before widening the pool.
Waitlist members receive:
- A personal installation link from Google Play
- A short onboarding guide for first-time setup
- A direct channel to the eustella community
The iOS version for iPhone and iPad is in final review and will follow on the App Store in the coming weeks. iOS waitlist members will be notified by email as soon as it is available.
Why we closed the waitlist now
We deliberately kept the first beta cohort small. 2,000+ users is enough to stress-test eustella under real conditions - across eight European languages, a wide range of devices, and a broad set of real use cases - without overloading the European infrastructure we run eustella on.
Closing the waitlist also lets us focus on shipping updates quickly for the current cohort rather than onboarding new users at scale before the product is ready for a public launch.
What happens next
Next few weeks. Closed beta users get rapid iteration - weekly updates, bug fixes, and early access to new features.
After the beta. eustella will open to the public with a wider release, expanded feature set, and additional languages. Everyone who missed the waitlist will be notified through our newsletter when public access opens.
If you missed the waitlist, the newsletter on eustella.com is now the best way to stay informed. Subscribers will be the first to hear about the public release and any additional beta waves.
What eustella is, in short
eustella is a personal AI assistant built in Europe, for Europeans. It runs on European and open-source AI models, stores data exclusively in the EU, and does not train on user conversations. It is built by newsrooms.ai, an independent AI company based in Vienna, Austria.
Thank you to everyone who signed up. See you in the app.
